Trudeau Foods Announces the Acquisition of Prinsen Distributing, Inc.

BURNSVILLE, MN – JULY 14, 2009
Burnsville, Minnesota-based Trudeau Foods, one of the largest specialty food distributors in the U.S., announced that it has purchased assets of Prinsen Distributing, Inc., an Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based specialty dry grocery distribution company. Trudeau Foods is majority-owned by Chicago-based Arbor Investments, a food and beverage focused private equity firm. Terms of the sale were withheld.
Prinsen Distributing is a leading specialty dry grocery distributor offering thousands of specialty retail food and confection items from around the world. Prinsen has a strong presence in the Twin Cities metro area, where it distributes numerous product lines in a range of food categories, including confections, snacks, specialty beverages, spices, sauces, marinades and many others. Troy Prinsen, former President of Prinsen Distributing, will lead the dry grocery business at Trudeau and become an integral member of Trudeau’s executive management team.
