Steelite International (“Steelite” or the “Company”), the world’s leading supplier and manufacturer of award-winning tabletop and buffet solutions to the global hospitality industry, announced the acquisition of Hollowick, Inc. (“Hollowick”), a US-based company and innovator in tabletop lighting and food warming solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Established in 1971, Hollowick is a second-generation, family-owned business committed to manufacturing reliable, fine quality table lighting products that enhance the dining experience and ambiance. Hollowick will join the broader Steelite family of brands, expanding the Company’s suite of tabletop product offerings to hospitality markets across the globe. Manufacturing will remain at Hollowick’s facility in Manlius, NY and orders will continue to be fulfilled and distributed from that location.
“At Steelite, we recognize our hospitality customers are not just setting a table, they’re creating a dining experience where shape, color, texture and light combine to feed the senses,” said Steelite President and CEO John Miles. “Hollowick has been at the forefront of innovation in table lighting and food warming and is well respected in our industry. We’re ecstatic to add these leading products to our comprehensive portfolio of tabletop offerings and further Steelite’s position as the preferred one-stop-shop for unmatched quality and product breadth when curating tabletop experiences.”
Commenting on the acquisition, owners of Hollowick Anne and Jerry Menter added, “A new chapter begins at Hollowick as we become part of the broader Steelite family. Steelite’s reputation, industry experience, resources and global customer base made them the right choice to partner with. We’re energized by the synergies between our companies and excited to help even more hospitality customers ‘make life brighter’ with our innovative products.”
Steelite International is owned by Arbor Investments, a specialized private equity firm that focuses exclusively on acquiring premier companies in food, beverage, and related industries. Arbor acquired Steelite in December 2019 and has made significant investments to grow the business both organically and through acquisitions.
“The Hollowick transaction marks the third add-on to the Steelite portfolio in the past 24 months, and is a highly attractive fit in terms of channel and end-market overlap,” said Brody Lynn, Partner at Arbor. “We are excited to leverage Steelite’s best-in-class sales network and marketing resources to reach more customers with an expanded product offering and will continue to seek opportunities to add complementary businesses that further Steelite’s ownership of the tabletop.”
